Increase Engagement with Your Department Programs: Activate Your Booth & Go Live with Us on Jan 29!
All VCU departments and groups are invited to activate and host a virtual booth at the Virtual Student Org Fair Spring 2021 with live chat, live video conferencing, uploads like photos and links, and, best of, the I'm Interested feature.
During the live fair on January 29 from 2 to 5 pm, students who are interested in learning about your programs can chat and Zoom live with all department or group representatives. Student participants can click your booth's dedicated I'm Interested button. After the fair, you can follow up with the list of interested students by email to share more info about opportunities for them.

How to Activate your Booth
Getting Started

In order to participate in the fair, your Department or program must have an established "group" on RamsConnect. >> Search a list of all active RamsConnects group here. If your VCU department or group would like to request a RamsConnect group, please use this form. >> View info about and a list of tools and features available to RamsConnect groups.

To start the process of activating a booth for the Spring Student Org Fair, go to RamsConnect.vcu.edu and find your your group's home page. Then go to Dashboard>More Tools > Virtual Fair and then click on the >Booth Settings button for the Spring Student Org Fair. Tip: If you hosted a booth in the August 2020 Student Org Fair, there is an option to transfer the content of that booth to your Spring Org Fair booth. Look for the dropdown option for that.

You will see lots of tools and options to customize your booth. You can easily upload graphics, links, pics, videos, PDF's and more to your booth.

Your can adjust the settings and tags so your booth is optimized in the fair Search feature. Select relevant Interests, Industries, and/or Sports so students who have similar choices will be matched with your group. It will show up for them in a list of Suggested Groups during the fair.

When you're ready, make sure to select >Activate Booth for your booth to appear in the fair.

During the live fair from 2 to 5 pm on January 29, you will host your booth live. Be sure to alert your team to get them prepared. During the fair, you can connect with interested students using the chat tool (group or one-on-one) and host a live Zoom meeting room where interested students can join.

During the live fair, you can also opt-in to Group Chat (single room where all participants can see all messages sent during the fair - great for Q&A!) and/or 1-on-1 Chat (assigned to your hosts on a rotating basis) with interested students. You can also add a link to a live Zoom meeting room link where you can meet face-to-face.
After the Fair, Email Interested Students From Your Custom List

The I'm interested or Send Me More Info option is an amazing feature so be sure to opt-in on it when setting up your booth. Students who are interested in your booth, can click a button.

After the fair, the emails for students who expressed interest in your program will populate in your RamsConnect group under Members list >Contacts>Filtered by the Member Tag, with the name of the fair. Use the RamsConnect email builder to create a follow-up email to reach out to interested students.
