How do I get funding for my student organization?

We are no longer accepting requests for annual funding for the 2024-25 academic year. Semester funding is now closed

How can I join SGA?

Students interested in joining SGA are able to participate in our Spring elections cycle this march. In order to be eligible to run, you must complete an info session from our Speaker or Deputy Speaker before February 28th. To contact them, please visit the "officers" page for their emails.

What are the positions in SGA?

There are two positions: Senators and Delegates

Senators are required to attend our weekly Senate meetings Mondays from 4-5:30 pm, attend weekly Department meetings Mondays from 5:30-6 pm, AND complete one office hour assignment a week by the Department Chair. Senators also have voting power. As of Spring 2025, Senators are also required to get five (5) volunteer hours.

Delegates do not have to attend Senate meetings but are highly encouraged. Delegates are required to attend Department meetings and complete one office hour weekly. Delegates, however, do not get voting power. As of Spring 2025, Delegates are required to get seven (7) volunteer hours.

How can I obtain a tax exempt form?

Student Government does not offer a tax exempt form. However, VCU does. Here is the pdf form: Form ST-12 Commonwealth of Virginia Sales and Use Tax Certificate of Exemption
