VCU selects two student leaders each year to serve as non-voting representatives to the VCU Board of Visitors (BOV) and the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) Student Advisory Committee.
These positions provide students with a meaningful opportunity to influence university decision‑making and statewide higher education policy.
Applications are open for the 2026–27 academic year. Each position carries a one‑year, non‑renewable term. Students currently serving in either role are not eligible to reapply.
Please complete the application form linked here by Sunday February 22, 2026 to be considered for either position. University officials will verify academic and conduct standing as part of the review process.
Student orgs have priority to room reservations in the Student Commons, so run - don't walk - to reserve spaces for the Fall 26 and Spring 27 semesters.
Student orgs can submit their requests through the EMS webapp starting Tuesday, Feb 17th.
Space is at a premium on campus, and student orgs get first dibs! Take advantage of your early access by planning and booking while space is still available.
Alternative Breaks bring together groups of VCU students for week-long, immersive community service experiences. Learn and serve with community partners right here in RVA or travel to Tennessee to meet VCU’s long term partner, the Jubilee Project.
Friendly warning: new experiences, close friendships and life changing reflections are very common with ASB. It may be the best week ever.
