Student Organization Leader Mini Conference

The VCU Student Organization Leader Mini Conference brings student leaders from across VCU together for a morning of learning, connection, and practical resources to help you lead your organization with confidence.

This year’s theme, Leading with Confidence, is all about giving student organization leaders the knowledge, skills, connections, and tools to navigate the opportunities—and occasional curveballs—that come with leading an organization. Whether you're building a stronger executive board, recruiting and engaging members, planning programs, navigating conflict, or figuring out where to go for help at VCU, you'll leave with ideas and resources you can put to work in your organization.

The conference will feature three rounds of interactive breakout sessions led by VCU staff and campus partners, with opportunities to choose the topics most relevant to you and your organization. We'll wrap up the morning with lunch and time to connect with fellow student leaders and campus partners.

Tentative Schedule

9:00–9:15 a.m. — Welcome & Opening Remarks
9:20–10:05 a.m. — Breakout Session 1
10:15–11:00 a.m. — Breakout Session 2
11:10–11:55 a.m. — Breakout Session 3
12:00–1:00 p.m. — Lunch & Student Leader Networking

The Student Organization Leader Mini Conference is free and open to VCU students involved in registered student organizations. New and experienced organization leaders are welcome!

Come ready to learn something new, meet other student leaders, and leave feeling a little more prepared to tackle whatever your organization has planned next.

***Prospective new student orgs for Fall 2026 are required to send at least one executive board member to the mini conference to complete the new org registration process.
