Hope everyone had a good first week of classes! Just have a couple things I wanna touch on before practice starts next week:

The cutoff for IMLeagues sign ups will be Tuesday at 2pm in order to be able to practice that day. This is so we can have an accurate list and make sure everybody is signed up efficiently. If you don't sign up by that time, you won't be able to practice and will have to sign up before Wednesday's practice instead.
Here is the link to the current IMLeagues roster. If you do not see your name, you need to sign up by Tuesday at 2pm or you will not be able to practice:

For practice, make sure you trim your nails (fingers and toes), don't wear any jewelry and take out piercings if you are able, and wear clothing that isn't too baggy and doesn't have any zippers. Ideally, we'd appreciate if everyone had a rashguard and pocketless shorts, but a t shirt and shorts/leggings is also acceptable.
On Tuesday, we will be starting off with the basics of wrestling and then move onto closed guard. We'll be sticking with a single position on the ground for 3 weeks at a time to give y'all enough time to have a good understanding of the position as well as building on techniques from class to class.
We will not have an open mat for the first week of practice. This is for the safety of those that are newer to the sport. This does not mean the first week will be boring or easy; there will be plenty of live rounds from closed guard where you can go as hard as you want. Open mats will start week 2.
