 Hot Topic 

Attention New & Transfer Students


Want to see where your classes are this semester? Join Special Programs as we walk around campus and show you where your academic buildings are this semester. This is a great chance to learn about campus and connect with other students. Please note that all tours will start at Hibbs Hall Truth and Beauty Statue, and specific tour routes will go to locations on campus every 30 minutes.
 

11 a.m.: University Student Commons, Harris Hall, Oliver Hall, and Trani Center for Life Sciences,
11:30 a.m.: School of Business and College of Engineering buildings, 12 p.m.: School of the Arts facilities (everything on the opposite side of W. Broad Street from the VCU Bookstore),
12:30 p.m.: Buildings in the center of campus, Hibbs Hall, Cabell Library, and the Academic Learning Commons.

VA Help

School Certifying Official Updates

For Chapter 33 post 9/11 Gi Bill students

The VA will reach out each month to verify enrollment to keep sending monthly BAH payments. When you receive a text from the VA asking to confirm your enrollment, please be sure to send "Y" if you are still in classes. If you mark "N"... the VA will stop sending your monthly cost of living payments until your enrollment status can be verified.

If you have questions about the payment status for GI Bill benefits, please contact the VA at 888-GIBILL-1 (888-442-4551) for assistance. You can also visit us in person at 1015 Floyd Avenue, Room 3122 for further assistance.

 

Veteran & Military Affiliated Students

Please remember to submit you RFC (Request for Certification) when registering for the next semester. Please see the link below for assistance:

For VMSDEP students

All students who authorized the award before the start of classes should see the VMSDEP tuition and fees credit on their accounts.

Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will open in December 2023 and will include several major changes that you can read about here.
Be sure to regularly check the RAMS Scholarship Hub for scholarship opportunities that are open to VCU students.
Don’t forget that the Military Student Services’ website also lists several scholarships and financial aid opportunities specifically for veterans, service members, and their families: https://militaryservices.vcu.edu/scholarships-and-aid/

MSS Pizza Day: Join the MSS Staff and the SVA starting at 12:00 on Thursday August 31st in office 3122 at Harris Hall. Free Pizza and Comaraderie!! Register Here

MSS/SVA Riverwalk: Please join MSS Director, Stephen Ross and the Virginia War Memorial Director, Ben King for a 75 minute stroll along the James river while learning about Richmond's diverse history. Register Here

SVA Hosted Dinner: Join the SVA for dinner at 3 Monkeys Tavern (a veteran owned business) on August 18th from 7-9 p.m. Come enjoy some great company and learn more about what the SVA does to support our veteran students. Register Here
